Growing up in California, I was always active, but needed to work hard at watching my weight.  After leaving high school I lost almost 100 lbs and followed my passion of water skiing.  For many years I maintained my weight.  As I got older, after 30, the workforce began to be more stressful.  I began to eat less healthy, sleep went to 4 hours, (if I was lucky), and exercise became 0.  In my 40’s I knew I was gaining weight, but work was more important.  I was sleeping less and less, driving more hours a day and sitting at a desk for more hours than I should have.

The event that really prompted me lose weight was turning 52.  My husband became ill and it seemed everything was crumbling around me.  My blood pressure was rising, cholesterol too high and my back was starting to ache.  I knew I had to do something because my husband needed full time care and I had to become fit for the both of us.

I was listening to Jillian Michaels about eating healthy and being fit.  I decided to join a gym and get a personal trainer.  Then, I met Erica.  What a breath of fresh air.  Her motivation alone was inspiring.  After a week, I was thinking, oh boy I hurt, is this all worth it.  My muscles we so sore I thought I would be hurting forever.  Well, one year last and I am still at it.

Losing weight and inches what a great feeling.  What has helped me the most is listening to Erica, taking the knowledge and information she shares along with the workouts.  She helped me turn my life around.  I consider her my life coach.  She gives me the knowledge and I apply it to my life.  Life style changes are difficult but so worth the effort.  I have the power, so between the two of us, I can do anything.

Understand that this is a lifestyle change.  Don’t be afraid to try new foods, new activities and new ways of thinking. Commit to yourself and to your dreams.  Live the life you want by “putting action behind your intentions.”  I will continue on this road until I reach my goal and beyond.  Thanks Erica,

Debbie Geyer

RIP- Debbie died unexpectedly in June.  She will forever be missed.  See you in heaven for our M, W, F 6am workouts Debbie :)

Last year in August I decided I needed to make some changes in my life.  After the death of my ex-husband and walking away from my job I went back to school.  I have always battled my weight but I really had let myself go.  I started a new job and began to watch what I was eating.  I know what I have to do but I just didn’t have the motivation to do it.  As the year came to an end I had lost over 20 lbs.  I joined the gym and purchased a trainer package. New Year’s Day was my first session.  This is when I believe my life was forever changed.  I met Erica and a lifelong friendship began.  I worked with Erica for the next 4 months and made huge progress.  At 47 I never thought I would get into the shape I am now.  I have lost a total of 49 lbs. and in the best shape ever!  She has been an inspiration to me and I believe I would have never made it this far without her.  I have decided this is my way of life from now on and I will be forever grateful for Erica coming into my life.

Love you,

Laura
